A beautiful and picturesque lake, the Kareri Lake seems like a place which has been picked straight out of a Hollywood movie. Also known as Kumarwah Lake, this is a shallow, freshwater lake that is situated to the south of the Dhauladhar range, about 9 kilometres to the northwest of Dharamshala, in the Kangra District of Himachal Pradesh. Located at an altitude of 2,934 metres above the sea level, the Kareri Lake is also a popular trekking destination in the Dhauladhar range other than being a major sightseeing attraction. Frequented mostly by the Gujjars and Gaddis who reside in the nearby villages because of the extensive pasturelands that the Kareri Lake houses, the lake also boasts of beautiful clusters of dense conifers and different kinds of colourful perennial flowers.

Camp Wanderers has been an amazing experience , there was no question of discomfort , the leaders were very friendly and helpful in every possible way . Besides from general trekking there were camp fires, team building and fun games planned. As a foodie , amazing food was served even at heights . I would recommend camp wanders to each and every nature lover out there.

Camp Wanderers has been an amazing experience. I have attended 3 camps with this group and now I can’t imagine about going to the mountains with any other group!
Besides the general trekking, there was jhummering, rafting, rappelling in late afternoons. In the evenings, around the camp fire, there were team building activities, debating forums, and fun games planned. The camp is very special because of it’s very special personal bonding with the peers and the leaders alike. Every morning has some surprise assignment, be it in group or individual.
The food is excellent, the guidance very apt, no question about security or discomfort. I highly recommend this camp to anyone who’s looking for adventure and fun with relative comfort and opportunity to meet some great leaders and nature lovers.

Going on trek greatly influenced my personality. It made me brave and never lose hope in any situation and always be ready to face bravely different challenges of life. It did changed my way of thinking and my personality.. So thanks a lot “Camp Wanderers” for making me such a different person and seeing challenges in a different way..
